Why does your child thrive in one environment but struggle in another? Why can they follow instructions in school but have complete meltdowns at home? The answer usually isn't behavioural defiance. It's sensory architecture.
Most people know five senses — sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell. But two more shape everything else: interoception (sensing your body's internal state — hunger, fatigue, emotion) and proprioception (knowing where your body is in space). These two “quiet” senses regulate all the others. A child who can't sense their own body can't easily regulate their emotions.
The Briio Protocols work across all eight sensory pathways together, rather than isolating one skill at a time. When a child's vestibular system is balanced, their auditory processing often improves. When proprioceptive awareness develops, emotional regulation tends to follow. Integration is what creates lasting, transferable change — not repetition of a single isolated skill.
This is why some children can “perform” beautifully in a therapy session and still struggle at home — isolated protocols create isolated neural pathways. Coordinated, whole-senses work is what carries into daily life.
